God wants us to know Him personally. But we can't have a personal relationship with Him until a spiritual transaction takes place.
This transaction is spoken of in Colossians 2:13, "When you were dead in your transgressions and the uncircumcision of your flesh, He made you alive together with Him, having forgiven us all our transgressions, (NASB95)"
What does a dead person need? LIFE
According to this verse, who can give you life? "He" (Jesus)
John 10:10 states, "? I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly. (NASB95)" Jesus doesn't want you to have a wimpy, dull life. Jesus is talking about a life that is full and overflowing.
Do you have that kind of life? You can only have it by turning to Jesus. John 3:16 says, ""For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life. (NASB95)"
"Believe" in this verse means to have faith in who Jesus is and was. 1 Corinthians 15:3-5 shares this good news we must believe, "For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received, that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, "and that He was buried, and that He was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures?, " (NASB95) "
You must believe that Jesus died on the cross for your sins.
You must believe that Jesus was raised from the dead so you could have His life!
Romans 10:9-10 states, "that if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved; "for with the heart a person believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation. (NASB95)"
All you have to do is come to God in prayer and ask Him to give you this life. John 6:37 is Jesus' promise to us, "All that the Father gives Me will come to Me, and the one who comes to Me I will certainly not cast out. (NASB95)"
Jesus said that if you come to Him, He will not turn you down. What a great promise! Will you trust Him for LIFE today? Pray right now and ask Him to give you what He promised? Life!
If the prayer you said to God was sincere, the greatest thing that could ever happen in your life has just occurred. You will never be the same again. God promises to come into the life of anyone who come to Him in trust and faith. The Bible says, "Anyone who calls on the Lord will be saved." (Romans 10:13) That means you. You can now be certain that God has come into your life.
